A Winter Wonderland at Nyereg-kör

Another epic hike in the books! This time, we took on Nyereg-kör in the Mátra mountains, and it did not disappoint. With clear skies, crisp air, and a fresh dusting of snow on the peaks, it felt like stepping straight into a postcard.

The Trail: Views, Vibes, and (a Lot of) Laughs

Nyereg-kör greeted us with a mix of scenic ridges, dense forests, and sweeping panoramas that had everyone stopping for photos every five minutes. But can you blame us? The Mátra range really showed off, giving us some of the best winter views we’ve had all season.

The trail itself was just the right amount of challenge—enough to keep things exciting but not so much that we couldn’t still chat, joke, and make new friends along the way. And with such a big group this time, there were plenty of new faces to meet! (Shoutout to everyone who joined for their first NT Hike—welcome to the club! 🥾✨)

Snowball Fights and Trail Shenanigans

Of course, no winter hike would be complete without a full-scale snowball war. Let’s just say some people took it very seriously (looking at you, strategic rock-cover users). The laughter echoed through the valley, and by the end, we were all covered in snow and out of breath from running around. Worth it.

Wrapping It Up (Literally)

As the sun started dipping, we wrapped ourselves in extra layers and made our way back. The golden-hour glow on the mountains was chef’s kiss—the perfect way to end the day.
